Hello once again faithful readers! Took the exercise down a notch today and went for a long but brisk walk, mainly due to only getting 3 hours sleep last night. When I woke up I felt too tired to run. But I will make up for it tomorrow morning by trying a new running route, should be fun!
Also from friday I will be adding 1 more rep to each of my exercises and I will steadily increase it week by week.
And now for the second part of my news. In a previous blog I stated that I wanted to drop 1 kilo by tomorrow and I can gladly say that I surpassed that goal and dropped 2 kilos, woohoo! Just gotta keep going step by step, day by day.
Until next time folks!

Day 6: I...HAVE...THE...POWEEERRRRR!!!!!
It's amazing what a little willpower and determination can do. That's right folks, I reached my first goal, I ran the full 2km non-stop ( cue clapping ), Ok settle down, settle down. Now that I'm at that plateau, I'm going to try and run it twice! Yep, 4 km is going to be my next goal, but this one will probably be a little harder and take me longer than 6 days to reach.
Unfortunately I let myself down yesterday and got lazy with my food. Ate 1/2 a loaf of bread with lots of butter, and while it tasted good it does nothing for my body goals, so I chucked the butter in the bin this morning and any toast that I have from now on will be dry or some sort of healthy topping. The only way I can succeed in this endeavour is if I take myself in hand and not give in to temptation. BUT FOOD IS SO GOOD!!! I love you food! Anyway (slap on the wrist) be good Stacy!
Until next time folks!

Day 5: I think I can, I think I can...
...and I did! Woke up a full 1/2 an hour earlier than my alarm, chucked on my running gear and out the door I went. Now running 3/4 of the circuit nonstop. Getting closer to that first goal, YES! Also did a full circuit of my exercises and added one more to the mix, lunges. And now my body's grumbling "YOU FOOL! Why go through so much pain? It's easier being lazy!", but body we're going to do it whether you like it or not, so tough luck. Anywho, no change on the weight front but its only been a couple a days and I'm keeping a stiff upper lip and keep at it.
Until next time folks!

Day 4: And rest...
Short one today, no exercise, body feels broken (mainly ongoing issues with back, thinking about getting a massage) so have given myself a rest day. But be sure to tune in next time folks!

Day 3: On the run again...
Well, I think my bodies getting used to waking up early again, woke up a full 1/2 hour before my alarm went off. Maybe my bodies just excited that it's actually getting used again. Well got up, got changed and out the door I went. Started strong and powered out a good distance before I stopped, went further than I did yesterday. Only problem was after walking for a bit I found it a bit harder to start running again ended up just running for 3 poswer posts and walking 2 power posts. Hmm, better cut that out. Oh well, I hope to be doing the full 2km nonstop by next thursday, once I get to that goal I will see about picking up the pace and start to time myself.
No exercise today, will pick that up on Monday as I stated in my last post.
Ooh and for breakfast I had prorridge but I cooked the rolled oats in skim milk which turned out pretty good actually. Might have to have that again tomorrow, yes that's a good idea.

Day 2: Ahh the simple things...
... and how much I've forgotten about exercise, but we'll get to that in a sec. So I got up this morning, body slightly aching from yesterdays work out and thought to myself "ok, body doesn't feel too bad, lets get going". Got out the door and did my run. I was bit sluggish, but I did run further than I did yesterday by a good 200 metres, but I didn't quite reach my target of not stopping. Oh well, just keep trying.
Now when it came to do my exercise's I had a mental image of a younger version of myself saying "Hey stupid, you know it may be a good idea to have a rest day inbetween exercise or something like this will happen" where it felt like someone then proceeded to grab my abdomen and then crush it like a paper bag as I was doing situps. So what is the moral of the story? Have a rest day in between exercise to let the body recuperate.
So from now on I will still do my daily runs but exercise will happen on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Once I've felt I've reached a certain plateau with my fitness then I will start to push harder.
All in all lesson learned or rather relearned.
And to anyone out there actually reading this, anyone got any healthy chicken breast recipes?

Quote of the day: got nothing today, sorry
P.S I do a whole song of the day and quote of the day because of something that I found inspirational in my day. Songs usually come from my mp3 while I run and the quotes from movies, cartoons I watch or games that I play.

Day 1: And it begins...
Well after a small case of insomnia and 5 hours sleep, I did in fact actually get up and go for a run, YAY! Now today I would say I didn't go as well as I had hoped but did better than I expected. I had hoped to do my 2km run without stopping, but it turned into run for 10 mins, walk for 5 mins and then run for 10 mins again. So only 1 stop where I expected to stop 2 to 3 times. Now as for the exercise after the run I managed to get through 1 set of each exercise that I stated in my last post. So I didn't reach my intial quota of sets :( .
So in all, an ok start.
So my goals for tomorrow are; No stops while running, just power it out and doing 2 sets of exercises. Oh I will also be wieghing myself after exercise and I need to make a correction to my last post, I'm not 144kg, I'm actually 145kg :( . Hopefully by next thursday I've dropped that extra kilo.

Getting started
Hey all!
I've set up this blog as a way of tracking my progress over the next few weeks and months for my goal of slimming down and toning up. Now as it currently stands I weigh in at 144 kilos and to me that is way too much. It's depressing when I think about it, but I haven't been under 120 kilos since I was 16 and I'm 25 now.
I have a short term goal of losing 5 kilos in the next 2 months and a long term goal of losing 20 kilos over the next year. My plan to begin with is to get up in the morning and go for a 2 km run in under 20 minutes, do 2 sets of 10 pressups, 2 sets of 15 situps and/or leg raises and 2 sets of 15 squats and I will gradually increase this week by week.
I've switched my diet over to having cornflakes with a banana and trim milk in the morning, chicken, vegetables and rice for lunch and poached eggs on toast for dinner, with fruit in between for snacks. On the weekend I may have a steak instead to spoil myself ( yum ).
My 2 biggest obstacles are, firstly motivation, I get unmotivated very quickly and find it hard to keep at something if I don't enjoy it, so anyone out there who decides to follow my blog please keep encouraging me, don't let me slack off because I really, really need the support. Secondly junk food, I love my junk food and I don't have very good will power when it comes to food, I likes it so much.
So yeah there we have it. Let me know what you think and if you have any advice or ideas leave me a comment.
Hoping to hear for you!
